Snapchat Filters

I made these filters back when everyone was locked down during the pandemic. I was on my second year in college (and was bored) so I explored Snapchat Lens, a Snapchat software that allows designers to make cool filters for Snapchat users. At that time, I was consuming a lot of old-school content like watching old films like The Sound of Music and Bonnie and Clyde and I was also listening to a lot of Westlife and U2 and Toto. Then, an idea came to mind that what if I bring back the nostalgia I get when watching and listening to these media that I have been consuming... and this is where I got my inspiration for these filters. I started playing around with simple projects in Snapchat Lens, self-learning the basics until I officially decided to create my very first Snapchat filter.

hroughout the years I've been creating more and more effects, getting inspiration from movies and art pieces I've seen online. Below, you will see a few projects I've worked on over the past couple of years. Some of these effects have been inspired by the old-school vintage cameras such as 35mm films or instant cameras, some are quirky effects inspired by different time periods, and some are visions that I see in my head of what I imagine the world looks like in the 50s or 60s.
